Christmas Meal - Tuesday 4th December 2018
What a lovely way to start the lead-up to Christmas! An impressive turn out for our first Christmas event saw 33 of us, including a number of non-members, come together to enjoy a Christmas meal in the festively-decorated Hall.
With seasonal music as a back-drop, a delicious two course Christmas meal was prepared by Bob Parker (well known to members for tasters throughout the year!), the evening was a great success enjoyed by all.
The feedback from members and non-members was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re delighted that Bob will be catering for us again for certain events throughout the year. The Club is also hoping to make the Christmas Meal an annual event - watch this space!!
Members' Night - Saturday 15th December 2018
Our most-popular annual event looked set to be a ‘wash-out’ due to torrential rain, but it would take more than that to deter our members! It was great to see so many coming together for what is always a fantastic evening.
As well as enjoying reduced bar prices all evening, there was the presentation of the Bill Jackson Cup to the winner of the snooker competition, Gary Farnham. Then the hotly-anticipated, main event of the evening: the Christmas Raffle. Members had brought over 1400 ‘Grid squares’ over the previous month and were keen to see who had won the great assortment of prizes - many thanks to the Club Steward, Bob Ford for organising the ‘Grids’ and purchasing the prizes!
A tasty buffet, prepared by Mary Smith, was consumed with gusto by all present. Many thanks Mary, for this event, and all the others you cater for throughout the year.
