Successful Launch Night for the Refurbished Hall

Southwold, Reydon & District Constitutional Club held an open evening on Friday, 8th June to officially open their newly refurbished hall. Several other organisations accepted the offer to come and have a look at revamped facilities and to enquire about hiring the hall for events and parties.

Launch Night for the Refurbished Hall

The evening opened with tea and coffee or drinks from the bar, where guests and members could see the staff in their new uniforms of black trousers, white shirt and green waistcoat. Our guests then filled themselves with a superb buffet prepared by Club Secretary Mary Smith, with help from Anita Freeman, Christine Sanderson and Pat Fisk. This was followed by a short speech from Club Chair, Lisa Ford. On behalf of the Club, Lisa presented two cheques of £400 each to the Solebay Care Fund and the Voluntary Help Centre; this money coming from our in-house charity collections.

A raffle was held of over 30 items, which were generously donated by club members. The evening ended with music from John Bullard (Bully), which soon saw many dancing the night away.

Many thanks to everyone who helped organise, together with the bar staff, which made this a very enjoyable evening.
